Terms & Conditions

All publicity advertising the sale or hire of new and used aircraft or the training of pilots must conform to the BHPA¹s conditions of acceptance as set out below. Advertisements must not be misleading, untruthful or indecent. The publisher (BHPA) reserves the right to withdraw any advertisement it deems to be unsuitable for publication.

Please note: Members¹ discounted rate classified advertisements are available only to BHPA members or Skywings subscribers advertising privately. Traders, whether members or not, must pay the full rate.

It is the advertiser¹s responsibility to include details of the current airworthiness certification status, however we reserve the right to add this information to advertisements where it is missing - See below!

All Skywings advertisements are accepted under the following conditions...

1 New hang gliders and paragliders

All advertisements for new hang gliders and paragliders will carry one of the following two clearly legible statements:

BHPA, EN, DHV, LTF, SHV, or HGMA Certification (depending on the certification authority) - In this case each model and size of glider advertised must have this certification. With paragliders the certification classification must be stated, e.g: EN A, LTF 1-2, etc. It must be clear which sizes and models the certification applies to.

No certification - This statement will apply in all other cases.

2 Used

A. HANG GLIDERS: Classified advertisements and traders¹ display advertisements for second hand HANG GLIDERS should include either of the two clearly legible statements or no statement at all.

BHPA, DHV or HGMA Certification - The glider offered for sale has this certification and carries a verification label to that effect.

Registered - The glider has been previously registered under the BHPA Airworthiness Scheme and carries a verification label to that effect. (A new owner must apply to re-register it with the BHPA office.)

Registered - The glider has been previously registered under the BHPA Airworthiness Scheme and carries a verification label to that effect. (A new owner must apply to re-register it with the BHPA Office.)

No statement - In the Ono statement¹ case for both used hang gliders and used paragliders, it is implicit that no certification exists or that no certification status information has been supplied.

3 Advertisement for training

Advertisements for UK-based training are accepted only if the centre offering the training is a BHPA member club or, where this is not the case, the BHPA club providing the training is named in the advertisement.
